Organizations are under pressure to perform better concerning environmental performance, but they are unable to introduce effective Green Human Resource Management practices. This paper explores how Green Human Resource Management affects environmental performance through the mediating influence of green innovation and green employee behaviour. A cross-sectional survey was conducted on 193 HR professionals and industrial officers working in Lahore and Sheikhupura, Pakistan, manufacturing companies and analyzed via partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). The results reveal that GHRM practices enhance EP directly and indirectly, mainly through the strong intervening effect of green innovation and to a smaller extent through employee green behaviour. These results provide both theoretical and practical information on the way to attain sustainable performance and create a clear roadmap through which industries can play a role in SDGs 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and 13 (Climate Action).
